FOAM joins Ethereum Enterprise Alliance
Introducing geospatial standards like Proof of Location and further supporting the adoption of Ethereum.
FOAM is the most recent member of the Ethereum Enterprise Alliance (EEA). EEA is the world’s largest open source blockchain initiative with over 250 member companies. FOAM joins EEA to introduce geospatial standards, Proof of Location and to support the adoption of Ethereum in the enterprise.
We are excited to explore the use of Proof of Location and other geospatial spandars together with the other members of the Alliance. W see use-cases across a large number of verticals and applications and look forward to joining the relevant working groups.
– Ryan John King, FOAM CEO
At FOAM, we are committed to building spatial protocols, standards and applications that bring geospatial data to blockchains and can empower a consensus-driven map of the world.
Our Proof of Location protocol empowers a permissionless and autonomous network of radio beacons that can offer secure location services independent of external centralized sources such as GPS through time synchronization. Proof of Location creates consensus on whether an event or agent is verifiably at a certain point in time and space.
Ethereum Enterprise Alliance
The EEA is an industry-supported, not-for-profit established to build, promote, and broadly support Ethereum-based technology best practices, open standards, and open-source reference architectures. The EEA is helping to evolve Ethereum into an enterprise-grade technology, providing research and development in a range of areas, including privacy, confidentiality, scalability, and security. The EEA is also investigating hybrid architectures that span both permissioned and public Ethereum networks as well as industry-specific application layer working groups.
EEA will collectively develop open industry standards and facilitate collaboration with its member base and is open to any members of the Ethereum community who wish to participate. This open-source framework will enable the mass adoption at a depth and breadth otherwise unachievable in individual corporate silos and provide insight to the future of scalability, privacy, and confidentiality of the public Ethereum permissionless network.
We will be releasing more information including our roadmap, timeline and some exciting partnerships. For now, check out our new website and join our Telegram. Updates will be posted on Reddit, Twitter and Facebook. Leading up to the release of our white paper, we will be sharing posts going into more detail on the FOAM protocol, our API, use cases for different verticals, the Spatial Index, and further technical breakdowns of Proof of Location and our white paper.
We welcome feedback from the community and are open to collaborations, so please get in touch.
