Potential Zone Anchor Locations for FOAM’s Proof of Location Protocol

We recently released a questionnaire to gauge community interest in setting up Zone Anchors. The results have been insightful and it is quite exciting to see the global interest in FOAM.

This preliminary questionnaire is part of FOAM’s ongoing efforts to ensure that the utility tokens from the utility token distribution event are going to actual users and contributors of the network.

You can view the interactive map of the results here.

Melbourne, Australia has the most interest by a large margin, and the community also has a strong presence in the surrounding region. If you are from the region, you can join the local community Telegram group that has been started for Australia.

There are quite a few community members in the Northeastern US and Southeastern Canada, and a local community is also in the works. FOAM is based out of the New Lab in New York City and is where the first test Zone will be established. Other hot spots in the United States include California, the Pacific Northwest, and Florida.

Germany is home to the most points in Europe, and there is a good distribution of interest across the continent. FOAM has office space in Berlin at Full Node, a shared workspace for blockchain companies, and will serve as the central hub for FOAM’s European endeavors.

A little more than half of those interested in running Zone Anchors have experience with running a node or mining cryptocurrency. Having this experience will definitely help moving forward with running Zone Anchors or Verifiers. However, for those that do not have experience with this, we plan to make the process for FOAM as straightforward as possible and we will provide proper guidance so that anyone can help contribute to the network.

In order for the full vision of FOAM to be fulfilled, there will need to be a combined effort between the FOAM team and the global community. FOAM is still in its infancy and we are off to a great start! If you are interested in starting a local community, whether it be creating a chat group for your region, organizing local meetups, or both, please send an email to info@foam.space.
