Cartographers — Dust off your 🔍 and get ready for the FOAM Holiday Treasure Hunt 🎁.
- In the most popular areas of the FOAM Map, the Foamspace team found 10 points of interest that are not yet registered.
- Starting Monday, on each weekday between December 17 and 28, a riddle describing one of the locations will be released.
- The first cartographer to add the correct location to the FOAM Map will receive an architecture-themed digital collectable (NFT), created in collaboration with Blockcities.
FOAM’s Holiday Treasure Hunt is the first location-based game on the FOAM Map.
The Foamspace team selected 10 points of interest (POIs) in the most popular areas of the FOAM Map that are not yet registered. In collaboration with Blockcities, an upcoming architecture game, a one-of-a-kind digital collectable has been minted for all 10 POIs.
Each day, a riddle describing one of the locations will be released. The first cartographer to solve the riddle and add the location to the FOAM Map will unlock a unique digital collectable that can be used in the Blockcities game. These digital collectables are called non-fungible tokens, or NFTs. An NFT is a special, one-of-a-kind token that is not interchangeable. For FOAM’s Holiday Treasure Hunt, an NFT is linked to an artist’s rendering of the discovered location. These can eventually be used in Blockcities, where players will be able to collect rare digital buildings from top cities and create entirely new ones. Tis’ the season to get mapping.
